WAILEA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

January 7th, 2007

As those who are on island can see, there is a tremendous amount of construction going on in the Wailea area and we thought a brief update might be in order.

Kanani Wailea has had several closings, has begun work on the community pool, begun the landscaping process and will probably be complete by the end of March or so. Kai Malu has also begun phase one closings. The infinity pool is breathtaking and construction of Phases II and III is ongoing. A temporary traffic light will be installed at the intersection of Okalani and the Piilani Highway. Ho'olei is really making rapid progress and the project can now really be envisioned. A new traffic light will be going in on Wailea Alanui at the Grand Wailea Banquet entry in the spring. Papali has been graded, construction is ongoing and that project will be finished in the next eighteen months or so. The residences at the Wailea Town Center are nearing completion and that mixed use project has really turned out beautifully.

In the longer term, the Renaissance Hotel demolition and construction of the St. Regis condominiums has been delayed until April. Gateway Center, a 60,000 square foot mixed commercial/condominium development at the corner of Piilani and Wailea Ike has been approved by the Planning Commission and is seeking WCA approval. MF-7, located across from Wailea Ekahi and between Kai Malu and Okalani Drive, has had preliminary plans submitted to the Planning Commission. That calls for sixty condominium units divided among twelve buildings.

Honua'ula, the former Wailea 670, went before the County Council Land Use public meeting last week.

Perhaps most importantly, a dog park is now part of Kilohana Park thanks to the local developers. We'll see you there!
